The Service
Whether you are planning a full cremation or burial service or perhaps a memorial, closure or internment or scattering of ashes service, I will prepare a bespokely written tribute. You have complete control over what is and is not included in the service. You can therefore be assured that the service I deliver, will be completely unique and the exact service that either you or the person who has died, wish it to be.
I am passionate about poetry, prose and music and how they can really enhance a service. Following a home visit to reminisce about the person who has died, I will help you prepare tributes, give guidance and advice on content, music choices and contributions from friends and family to create a service that completely encapsulates your loved one's traits and personality, to ensure their memory will be cherished forever.
As a spiritualist, I am also happy to include any religious elements into the service according to your faith or belief, as you would wish to do.

When you visit a funeral director, which will usually be your first port of call, he will automatically offer you a slot at the local crematorium or one of your choice.
BUT, if you want a REAL celebration of life service, have you thought about organising and arranging your own choice of venue - perhaps an open air space, local sports club, the local community centre, or social club, or even, yours, or your departed loved one's, very own back garden?
Funeral services can be hosted anywhere! It is only the formality of disposing of the earthly body, either to the crematorium or to a burial site that is fixed.

A funeral service can, quite literally, happen anywhere - well, as long as the funeral team can physically get to the spot and transport your loved one safely to it.
You can decorate the venue as you so wish. You can display photos, make up your own visual tribute (or we can do that too!). Have the music you want - either pre-recorded or live but most importantly, take as long as you want. This is the most important aspect as at a crematorium venue you are limited to 30 minute chunks at a time, at a princely sum per session!
In organising your own venue, it is your own personal space to decorate as you wish, and have for the length of time you require it for, to do exactly as you would wish to do with it - and perform rituals, or practices in keeping with your faith, religion or belief.
Your departed loved one will always be the centre of attention and a part of the service throughout.
What better celebration of life could you possible ask for?

At the initial meeting with your funeral director, just ask them if they have any alternative venues (other than the local crematorium) that would allow you more space, flexibility and input to enable you to give your loved one the perfect send off.

Of course, at the current time, I work within the boundaries of my home location which is the Norfolk/Suffolk borders of East Anglia.
I am however, constantly trying to secure new venues elsewhere to accommodate celebration of life services.

I am a qualified bereavement support adviser and I run a local bereavement support group. Having lost my own life partner in 2019, I have a good idea how bereavement affects us, although of course, everybody's reaction is different and personal to them, but it means so much to me to meet others regularly and to help and support each other through our darkest times. Alternatively, I can signpost you to professional counselling services should you need them.
